I enjoyed this book a lot more than I did The Prince of Mist because there seemed to be a lot more depth to the story and medianocbe setting was absolutely gorgeous.
Pursued by an evil villain, two newborn twins are separated at birth. I must say, I did figure out the “who dunnit” element long before the book was nearing completion, mainly because it’s a totally “Zafon” thing to do.
Carter accepted Ben there, a mysteryous man came to talk to him, asking about a baby he may have accepted there—but he denied such thing.
Ben and his friends are due to leave the orphanage which has been their home for sixteen years. Couldn’t the author find a way to show, not tell? As he states, these are novels intended for a teenager public and as such are not as deep nor as complex as La sombra del viento. The boy twin, Ben, ek raised in an orphanage where our story resumes nearly 16 years later.
A man pauses for breath outside the ruins of Jheeter’s Gate station knowing he has only hours to live. I was very disappointed in this book.

I realize how it can be necessary in certain situations, but most of mediwnoche time, at least to me, it seems like filler.

Even though I did get a bit annoyed by the fact that the adults are conveniently absent throughout this whole story, I loved that the children are the focus farlos the book. Seriously, his prose is just absolutely stunning. In a word, I became old. The little “showdown” and “game” towards the end, too, was a bit tacky.
This book is not yet featured on Listopia. But I did genuinely like the ending, which seemed oddly melancholy and downbeat for a teen book. The eerie atmosphere that prevails mefianoche the story. Marina Vintage Spanish Edition.
